Wow - I can't believe it's been sooo long since I was last on my blog.....is anyone still out there checking in?? Thought I would try and get back into the grove of things. The last several months have not been the best of times for me and it just seems like time is going by so fast!!

I make no promises - but I do really want to get back into my blog and keep in touch!

I have been making cards and doing some crafting - but just didn't seem to have the time to do everything I want. Things have definitely calmed down in my world and I hope that there will be more sunshine and happiness for me to build on.

March is another busy month for me for cards - several birthdays and anniversaries!! I sure hope to have them posted this weekend!

Busy Little B....or should I say D....

Well July certainly has been a busy month for me! We've had a few birthdays and a 50th wedding anniversary.

Eric's brother's birthday was at the end of June and this was the card I did. I used a Mojo Monday sketch - but didn't remember which one and the notes I did write are somewhere in my room.....I have paper everywhere!

It's a fun card with An 'udder birthday stamp set being used. I really liked how the color turned out on this! my BIL thought it was fun. He's in his 40's and got a kick out of it!

My Niece also turned 4 this June. I can't believe how quickly she's growing. Her dance recital was also in June and she did her dance number to The Little Mermaid so I thought it appropriate to do this card for her.

And here she is.....

Some days I think she's smarter than she realizes! But she is a lot of fun!

And finally my Aunt and Uncle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 23. It's amazing that people can still be in love after all that time. The card I did for them was a variation of Mojo Monday from week 148. I really like how this turned out.

The designer paper I used is from ancestory.com and I love it.

So I finally got some images up and posted which makes me feel a bit better!

WE are off to NY city next week for a trip with friends of ours and it's going to be an action packed week filled with some amazing events taking place. I'll have some pics to post when we get back.

Whew time flies!

It's hard to believe that it's been over a month well almost two months since my last post!

Things are always a bit more hectic in the summer. Well if you can call what we are having summer. Crappy weather all around! Ball tournaments galore! I have done a couple of cards which I'll get up soon but just wanted to get in a quick update as my conscience finally got caught up to me.

Welcome to Little D's Place!

Finally and after quite some time - I have pictures to post of my craft space - AKA converted attic!

So welcome to Little D Creations. This is my main space that has everything in arms reach - well in my case maybe two arms length! All of the white furniture you see and the small silver file cabinet are all my ikea purchases - which have definitely made my space comfortable and easy to create in!

The wooden desk that holds my Scor-Pal, Cutter and Cuttlebug is a drafting table that used to belong to my late father-in-law who was also very creative. He was a painter and I'm quite honored to have this as part of my creative space. I originally was going to use this as my main desk area - as you can adjust the angle of the table which I thought would be great. However - after using it a couple of times it felt a bit awkward and wasn't 100% solid which made stamping images a bit of challenge. However it's new purpose is absolutely perfect - and works great as a 2nd dairy work space for when I have the girls over!

This is to the side of my main work space. This is where I store my cards I've made plus other storage. Again an Ikea product and this is also the only space in my room where the wall is completely straight! You can see how the walls angle up to the roof. And it's quite a sharp angle - so much several people have bonked their head coming into and out of the room - Sorry again, Allison!!

My stamp storage. I actually started to get quite organized and placed all my stamps in CD cases and have catelouged most of them in the white binder between the shelves. This definitely has made finding images must easier!

My main work desk with my special edition Cricket Expressions machine - which I'm still loving!!

And finally my connection to the blogging world! My Mac which is all better and making my life enjoyable again! This rolls perfectly under the desk so when I don't need it - it's not in my way - but it's always just a roll away when I need to do some searching on the net!

And I'm a huge Pooh fan - if you haven't already picked that up from my blog page! There are over 80 Pooh's in this corner plus a few other special stuffed animals. And yes - that little hole in the floor is the main access to Little D's! You can see how much the walls are slanted in this picture and the reason for the several bonkings!!

So this is Little D's! I'm very happy with how this turned out and even tried a few different locations within the room to see where the best mojo was felt and have been absolutely delighted with how this has turned out! It was fun knowing that when the house was done I would have an amazing crafting area - but I could never have dreamed that it would turn out as good as it has! My wish is that all crafters out there get their own space to call their own as it makes crafting much more personal and enjoyable!

And now onto my latest project. This is the banner that I have done up for my niece's 4th Birthday coming up in a couple of weeks. I unfortunately won't be able to attend the party as we are in Vegas on that weekend - but I've been very happy to create this for her. She is having a Fairy themed party and with the help of my cricket was able to do this up.

All of the smaller fairies that are sitting on the paper are all likenesses of the kids who are going to be at the party. I had my sister tell me the hair color and eye color of each child and colored each fairy accordingly. This makes it a bit more personal for the kids and my sister will use these for the goodiebag tags. Here is Machayla's:

So all in all it's been a fairly productive couple of weeks getting my room finished and getting the banner and Fairy cards done for my niece.

I still have a few projects to do - Tracy's Christmas Challenge (which I think might be late again!!) and another little project for my team leader's granddaughter!

Back To Normal?

Okay, so I think things are starting to get back to normal! My Mac finally crapped out and ended up having a complete hard drive crash. So finally got the hard drive replaced and seems things to be running smoothly! Other than I'm having issues printing to my printer in my craft room so I'm currently working on that!!

I know it's been quite a while since my last posting and and even longer time since I've posted some cards! Well today I'm going to rectify that! In one of my older posts I was talking about a card I needed to make for my boss who turned 50. Here is that card! Again had fun using my Cricket!

And another card that I had to make was for my mom's cousin. They are celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary this year - can you imagine? To put it in perspective - my mom was their flower girl!! She was 4! That is pretty amazing! The fact that they haven't killed each other after all that time!! ;)

The designer paper I used is Ancestory.com. I love this! And the stamp set is a new set I bought at Michaels as I don't have much in the way of wedding/anniversary stamps.

And finally - almost 2 months late - but finally got Tracy's Christmas Challenge done from last month where the main image had to be DP. I am working this months and do want to get this done in time - but at least I'm still getting them done - even if they are late!!

Here are the 5 cards! I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch and quite like how they turned out. Not your normal Christmas colors - but I think it works!

Anyhow, it was great to be able to post some pictures and I should have a few more projects up and coming - another wedding - another Christmas Challenge and my neice who turns 4 this year is having a Fairy Themed birthday so I'll be working a few projects for that!

AND I believe I finally have my craft room complete and set up! Did another Ikea run and got the final pieces I wanted. I'll get some pictures posted soon!

It feels good to be back to "Normal"!

Home again, home again

Well we are on our way back home from Vegas just hanging out at the airport. And alas no camera kits available for the iPad. We will just have to wait and get them at the end of may when they are available in Canada! So in the meantime I will have to see if I can figure out how to download my pics through iTunes. Wish me luck!

The weather was amazing and we had a lot of fun! On Friday night we were at the Voodoo long on the top of the Rio and it was a beautiful night with absolutely no wind. The shopping was great as always-again over our limit of what we were allowed.

Anyhow back to reality and hopefully warmer weather!

Off again

Well another quick post. We're off again to Las Vegas this time. A bunch of my hubbies friends and including my hubby turn 40 this year so there is about 30 of us going for the weekend. And of course it is one of our favorite places to go!

Things have been pretty hectic since we've been back so much so that I didn't even get a chance to tracy's Christmas challenge this month. I'll still do them as I always need to do my Christmas cards and I love doing these types of cards.

And I'm hoping in vegas we'll be able to pick up the camera attachment for the iPad to make it easier to get the pics on so that is the goal this weekend so that I can get some pics on this blog.

Just checking in

Well we are home from our holidays and we had an amazing time! I don't have any pics to post at this time but I should have some there are definitely a few highlights from our trip including a meet and greet with Jeff Goldbloom and we got hang out on set with him as well! He is incredibly friendly and incredibly tall!

And the main reason for the trip was my cousin in law was running in the Boston Marathon. He did incredible well! He wanted to do the race in 3 hours but was done in 3 hours and 8 minutes. But he was quite happy with that. And with that time he qualifies Again for next year. could this become an annual event for us? I definitely see that as a possibility. Boston is a beautiful city and the history there is amazing. You learn about it all in school but to actually stand at these places was so surreal And amazing! And the organization of the race itself is so well done. We had an amazing time.

We also did a lot of shows in New York. 6 in 4 days to be exact. We don't get to New York nearly as often as we would like so we cram as much in as we can. The good news is that we will be back there again in August.

Another highlight was purchasing our ipads which I am posting this post from! They are a lot of fun. The only bad thing right now is that they are not available in Canada so therefore there are no apps available at this time. But soon!

We also got to take in a Red Sox game at Fenway park. I', not much of a Red sox fan but to see Fenway Park was a great experience and again a lot of history there. and we also got to go to a Bruins game at The Garden. again not Bruins fans but my nubby is a huge Celtics fan and they play in the same arena so nubby was happy to see that.

Just a quick note....

Well whatever was happening with the Mac is all better.....for now! For some reason it decided it wanted to disconnect from the network - but things seem to be much better! No picture to post but I will have one done this week. My boss turns 5o this year and we're having a potluck on Thursday and I was asked to make her card....NO PRESSURE! It's actually fine - I really get along with my boss so this isn't anything that will stress me out! So I have to have it done by Wednesday night so I should have it posted soon!

We're finally having our House Warming party this upcoming weekend! Still not quite fully unpacked....but slowly and surely we're getting there! I think I will also have some pics of the craft room to post. The room still isn't quite done - but I don't think I'll have it finished before the weekend. But we'll see!

Christmas, Goodbye and Crazy Computers!

Well here are my cards for Tracy's Christmas Challenge. The challenge was to use snowmen and I love this image! I used an old Mojo Monday sketch for the layout and I really love these cards!! I went against my normal size and thought I'd try something a little different and voila - here they are and on time!

This is a card I made for a friend who is moving to Vancouver this week. She is taking quite a courageous step taking a job that she's never done before - still in radio - but it sounds like an amazing adventure for her! She is really looking forward to it and even though we'll miss her like crazy - it's the best thing she can do for herself! I used my Lion stamp as the Lion is the symbol of courage from the Wizard of Oz - so I thought it was quite appropriate!! Good luck Andy!!

Well things here are settling down abit as Ringette is over. We ended up in 5th in Provincials - not the result we wanted - but our team played incredibly well under the circumstances so it was a great way to end the season.

And here I thought I'd have a couple of weeks off before I got into ball season - but because we've had enough decent weather - we have practice tomorrow night!! I can hear my muscles screaming already!!

My Mac has crashed yet again - so we've decided to finally take it in. Doesn't mean too much for me other than I've lost my computer in my craft room so have to use the one on the main floor. A bit of an inconvenience but at least I can still get on-line!! Hopefully they can get it figured out and soon!! This running up and down the ladder sucks!

Birthdays, Partying, and Gearing up for Provincials

Well - first off - I did survive the night out at Ranchman's and actually had a very good time! It's been a while since I've had a real good night out! I was planning on being home between 10 and 11.....cab dropped me off at 1:08 am....had a great time! 10 - 12 Paralyzers I'm sure had something to do with that - but who can say?

This week has brought two more birthdays! This one I made for a friend of mine - her birthday is tomorrow. The mushroom is another Expressions creation. The frog is from SU Frolicking Frogs. It's a fun set - one I haven't used very much. This isn't how the card started out. I didn't like how I added some bling to to so I just cut out the main image and stuck a neutral color behind it. Not my best work. I do like the main image on this card. I used distress ink behind the images to help make them pop a little

This one I made for my sister who's birthday is actually today! Happy Birthday Paula! This is a simple layer card - but I absolutely love this DP! It's from s-e-i Black Orchid stack pad. I've used the paper a couple of times now and I love how the colors mix. Color combos I normally wouldn't consider - but I love this. It's quite simple - however - after it's was put together - decided I really need to focus when I'm cutting my paper - not all quite even. But I really do like how this card came together!

We didn't win our ringette last weekend - but the important thing about the game is that we played very well and we were quite focused for the most part. All things we want to take forward going into Provincials next weekend! I'm really excited about it. I believe we have a strong chance of coming in the top 3. I'll definitely let you know how we do!

I have a couple of more cards to make this week - another birthday and a good-bye card. One the gals I play ringette and softball with is moving to Vancouver on April 1 - and it's not an April Fools joke. She's in Radio and an opportunity for her came up and it was one she couldn't refuse. She's wanted to be in the Vancouver area for quite some time - so this is a great thing for her. Sucky for us - but great for her!

Plus I have to work on Tracy's Christmas Challenge the month. I didn't get last month's in on time so I really got to get this one done!

So this will be a busy week for me!

Does time ever stop passing so fast?

Well I'm back in my craft room and I realize that it's been almost two weeks since my last posting! Unbelievable! Where does the time go - really?? Where does it go? And I know there are those 'professional' bloggers who post every day - and ya know who don't like to follow us lowley once a week bloggers - but hey - it is what it is! Sorry Allison - couldn't resist!! That's if you even check my blog!! LOL.....gotta love inside jokes!!

This is a card that I made for a friend at work who's mom passed away. I always find Sympathy cards hard to do - but I really like how this came together. And it gave me a good chance to play with my new Expressions machine which I'm definitely getting used to and really starting to like.

My craft room is very slowly getting put together but I think will still be a bit of work. We are now into playoffs for Ringette and I have a game tomorrow morning and if we win by 3 we play Sunday and Monday as well. The good thing is we've already qualified for Provincials which are the last weekend in March here in Calgary and after that's done - I'll have about a month break before ball season starts! I really don't know what I would do if I didn't have my sports....I know - I'd be a daily blogger - I'm sure of it!! LOL.

It's another friend from work's birthday on Monday and we're heading to the Ranchman's tomorrow night......am I looking forward to it?? Let me put it to you this way - the Ranchman's as it sounds - is a country bar......I am not a Country girl....I'm definitely a rock and roll kinda girl so the idea of having a fun night out with the girls is very exciting - but the whole idea of being in a country bar for several hours does not appeal to me! This is her card I made - a bit appropriate as it's a bit of county styling. I used Mojo Monday Sketch for this week.

Too Emotional to Craft

What a weekend!

okay - so I was all se to get my challenge done for Tracy's Christmas challenge - even had all the pieces cut and read to go after the hockey game yesterday......so much for that plan! Talk about an emotional weekend! Wow was that a fantastic final weekend of the Olympics! I have never been more proud to be Canadian than after this weekend! It started Friday night with Canada vs Finland - and we were at Nancy's for Calgals....I had two birthday cards to make for Saturday and the 5 cards for Tracy's Christmas Challenge.....plus Nancy had a color challenge for us as well....talk about a stress filled night....how was I going to focus on my projects at hand whilst the hockey game was on...thank goodness for a big screen TV in the basement right by the crafting area! Well I got to work on my two birthday cards.

This is the card I made for my nephew Kevan who was in town from Surrey, BC along with his brother and mom. This was also Nancy's color challenge - so I was able to kill two birds with one stone! I really like how this came together - quite a fun card. Kevan was our ring bearer at our wedding when he was 7 - he's now 23....unbelieveable!

This was the card I made for my Niece. She's much older than I'd care to admit right now!! I LOVE this card - so much so that I didn't want to give it to her!! I made the flowers like Merlie had on her blog and really like this technique. You cut out the flowers and crumple them then use clear embossing power and emboss them. They end up with a nice clear finish and very firm.

So then it was on to the Christmas Challenge. I did really well - getting the main images and layers complete. All I needed to do was add some embellishments which I got all ready to go Saturday night - lots of time for putting them together in time for the deadline.....little did I know that the Canada vs USA game was going to be as stressfull as it was. I knew it was going to be a great game - but to have it end the way it ended was too much for me. And as I watched the rest of the country react the same way I did - just made it even more emotional for me. I was so emotionally exhausted that I literally did not have any energy to do anything the rest of the night. But with that - I was in bed at a decent hour and woke up refreshed and rearing to go. Got home after work and was able to get them done - a little past the deadline - but none the less - done!

I think they turned out okay - loving the Olympic Colors!

Anyhow - now that the Olympics are over - I should be able to get back to my 'normal' routine again!

Time Flies When You're Crazy Busy

I can't believe my last posting was January 31st! But things have been pretty busy in my world. This will be just an update to get back in touch!

Hubby had knee surgery. They fixed the meniscus which was a bit damage and we were worried about his ACL. His surgeon didn't touch his ACL this time - but he definitely wants to talk some more about it - so it does look like he'll be having more knee surgery - we just don't know when. He has his follow up appointment this coming week so we'll see what the surgeon has to say!

I was then in Spruce Grove - just north of Edmonton for a Ringette Tournament. And even though we went 2-1 in the round robin - we got bumped from the final by having to go to a 3rd tie-breaker rule. It was quite frustrating to not make it the final. But we did have a good night bonding with the team and there was quite a bit of drinking......a good weekend heading into our playoffs which start in a couple of weeks.

The house is really starting to come together - still no pics of the new craft room as it's not quite finished. Still want a couple of more pieces to put it all together. I'm hoping that it'll be more or less done by the end of this month and I'll be able to post some pictures.

I finally caved and bought a Cricket Expressions. I've been back and forth on whether or not to get one and hubby and I were at Michaels getting some framing done and I was back over in the area looking at them. The cartridges were on sale and they had the Breast Cancer special Edition one - so - finally bit the bullet and got it. Haven't had much time to play with it yet - but Tracy did come over and helped me break it in!

And now the Olympics are on and I am an Olympic Snob - I love the Olympics so I watch as much as I can and being in Vancouver which is an amazing city - they time difference is only an hour so it works out very well for me! Some of the Olympics that have been in other parts of the world really screws up my sleep for two weeks! But with them being so close - I get home from work and the nights we are not out - I'm on my couch from 5:o0 until Midnight watching all the action! The Olympics is in essence true athleticism at it's best. It's where anything can happen and the underdog can come out on top. And the emotion these competitors show are true and so very honest that you can't help feel what they are experiencing. And makes you want to be part of it. The Visa Commercials with Morgan Freedman narrating are the best. GO WORLD is right. The Olympics always have an underlying message of peace and hope for the world. Hopefully that underlying message can come through in every day life and not just every two years.

Anyhow - that's my udpate for now....sorry for the delay - and I'll try and post again next week with some actual pictures of stuff I've made! I know I'll be working on Tracy's Christmas Challenge again!

Tracy's Christmas Challenge 2010 #1

I've had my cards done for awhile for Tracy's Christmas Card Challenge - but nothing like saving it to the last minute to get them posted!!

I love this design of these cards. It adds something unique rather than your traditional card!!

I can definitely see me doing more of the easel cards!

Hubby and I were in Vegas for the past four days. We decided that we needed a break where he didn't stay in the hotel room all weekend! We stayed at the Newest Hotel and Casino - Aria - and I can easily say that this is our newest favorite place to stay! It is beautiful! The rooms were spectacular and we were in just a standard room! We do want to stay in a suite next time - but we'll have to see if we get any decent offers to upgrade! The location is great and with the tram running between Monte Carlo, Aria and Belagio - it makes getting around that much easier as well! Also - Aria is the first Green Hotel on the strip - everything is used with renewable energy - and they also use alternative sources of energy - which hubby and I loved! All of their clothing they sell in their store is made from organic cotton and recycled fabrics!

We did a bit a of shopping as well. We each picked up a brief case style bag that has solar panels on it to charge any electric device you have. It comes with a bunch of attachments and you can get more to accommodate what you have! They are very cool!!

Even if you don't stay at Aria next time you're in Vegas - it's definitely worth stopping in to check out!

Any way - I got my cards posted and in time for the challenge deadline!

Only two more days until Oscar Nominations are announced! I do an Oscar Pool every year and I'm really looking forward to this year - especially with 10 Best Picture Nominations being announced!!

New Year Challenges

One of the things I want to do this year is to participate in more challenges - really get my mojo flowing. Allison had a brilliant idea of making a challenge out of old stamp sets that have been sitting around collecting dust - which is a great idea! The way I figure it is I've spent money on the stamps - they should be used.

The one I decided to use was Hats Off - a Stampin' Up set. I love this little set - but have very rarely used it - not really sure if I have used it! I used Mojo Sketch Mojo119 for the layout and I must say I love how this card turned out. I'm not one for using black and white tones for my cards but Tracy's card did inspire me to use this color scheme. The color of the hat and her hair sets it off quite nicely.

And I've also used a fabric flower that I've had forever - and same thing - haven't really used these much - but it fit so nicely in with this layout.

It's great to have people out there to help spark your mojo!

I've also finished Tracy's Christmas challenge - but I'll get those posted in the week!

For another bit of inspiration - you really need to check out Merlie's blog....she's done some amazing organizing of her craft space - if that doesn't give you inspiration - I'm not sure what will!!

Aaah....crafting/Ugly Card Update

Another 'Traveling Ugly Card Update!

Things have definitely calmed down in my world and there seems to be a bit of normal back in my life! So much so that I've even been able to find time for crafting! I've made three cards already this year - but the first two I made - I'm not sure what file they were saved to!! LOL!

But the one I just finished is a birthday card for my mom. Her birthday is on Tuesday but I'm having dinner tomorrow night for the her and the fam.

This is a diorama card - and I used the Copic Color Challenge for the color scheme. A little off center - but so is my mom so it's all good!! LOL! Hopefully she doesn't make it onto my blog this week and read this!

The Colors that were used are RV11 (didn't have RV21), G00 and B32. Really pretty, bright colors. It was fun to color and put this card together!

I've also started getting my new craft room organized. I must say I love Ikea for the furniture sytlings - but wow can some of their pieces be a bit awkward to put together - and I have the bruises to show for it!! But very satisfying once the piece is put together.

I don't want to post any pictures just yet - I do want to wait and get the room a bit more organized - still have quite a few boxes to unpack so they're spread out all over the room! Hopefully soon I'll have it in decent enough shape to post some pics! I'm loving the way it is coming together. I still need a few a couple of pieces from Ikea - but I need to decide what I want and what will help the Mojo flow! We're also going to get better lighting in here - we have a couple of track lights to install as the lighting right now sucks! Thank goodness for my desk lamp!

And Hubby was able to figure out the network for the computers so I'm totally up and running and have my Mac back up and running and up in my craft room! No more running up and down stairs with cameras and cords to get the pics uploaded! Yay for me!

Next weekend is a big Ringette Tournament for me so I don't think I'll get my Blog updated - but maybe next time - I'll have some pics of the room!

A New Beginning

Another year has passed and I can't believe it's already 2010!

After a couple of very stressful weeks we are finally in our new home! Moving day was December 7th but because of a mishap with the Gas Company - we didn't get our gas meter until December 17th - which meant that we couldn't move in. Our stuff was good to go - but we could not. So we moved all of our stuff in and starting praying to the gas gods that we would get our meter before Christmas.

But due to the mishap we cancelled our trip to Vegas which meant my hubby couldn't do his meet and greet with Sammy Hagar. Sammy was opening his Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood and we were supposed to be there for the celebration and do a meet and greet.

We gave up possesion on our place on December 11th - which meant we were homeless. Homeless and staying at the Hyatt! I must say it's quite a weird sensation living in a hotel in your home town. The good news was that it was only a couple of blocks from the office and it was a Hyatt. How bad can that be? But I must say - after staying in a hotel for two weeks and not being on vacation was not my idea of a good time. However, I must admit that not having to make my own bed and the chocolates on the pillow every nightdefinitely made it bearable!

I did go to Vegas with my cousin over December 10th weekend and we saw Andre Bocelli in concert - which was amazing! So we did go and eat at the Cabo Wabo Cantina - highly recommend it!! Very good!

We finally got our gas meter on December 17th. And we had a planned weekend in Seattle to go the football game that weekend. Hubby was talking about not going as his thinking was that he could get the house finanlized for the the final city inspection. But me and our two friends convincinced him that he definitely needed a weekend away. So he came. We had a great night Friday - went to dinner had a couple of drinks and were ready for a great weekend. But as luck would have it - hubby got food poisoning and spent the entire weekend in the hotel room. Not much fun for him. He's still not 100% - but slowly getting there. It was the worse kind of food poisoning you can get. Just his luck.

But final inspection passed and the house was our officialy on December 23th. The Best Christmas present we could ask for. I had a couple of days to get things organized and we even had Christmas dinner with his family in the new house.

Things have started to settle in and we've got most of the place set up - a few more boxes to sort through and a few more pictures to hang - but we are finally home.

And now the fun begins. In the new house I have the attic as my craft room and it's about 600 sqft. There is so much space that I really have no idea what I want to do to set it up. Tracy had a great idea of sorting through everything I have to see what kind of storage I need and then I'll hit Ikea to start getting the room set up. The only thing about the room as that three of the four walls are angeled - so I'll have to be a bit creative for organizing the layout! And because it is the attic - the access is the granny style stair ladder which means I only have about 18 inch clearing to get things up there. So I'll have to make sure the boxes of stuff I do get fit!!

I have no pictures to post - but I do have a few cards to do this month so I'll get them posted. And once hubby figures out how to hook up the wireless internet - I'll have my computer up in the room so easy access!!

In the Midst of Moving

Knee deep in boxes and going a bit insane! Moving day is December 7th and today is my last day for packing. We will be going to vegas next weekend so that really cuts into my packing availability. We are also out every night this coming week - so needless say - this will be a very quick post. These are my cards for Tracy's final Christmas Challenge. I was able to to 3 sets and I like all of them. I just want to send a very big Thank you to Tracy for doing this every month this year and it defintiely helped me get my Christmas Cards going. I will actually get most of them out before December 1st which has been a goal of mine for about 5 years - but have never made it! THANK YOU TRACY!

As we will be moving and are away every weekend in December - this will be my last post before the Holiday Seasons really kicks in. I want to wish everyone a wonderful and safe holiday season and I'll have pics of the new craft room in the new year once everything is organized!

Mojo Monday 111

A quick post - can you believe it? Not like my last couple of winded posts!!

Well - finally able to get a Mojo Monday complete! It's been ages since I've done one and it feels really good to be able to sit down and get the Mojo flowing. I needed to make thank you cards for our contractors who are building our new home as they have been absolutely amazing! So I decided what better way to get creative than do the Mojo Monday and this is what I came up with - 8 times!! Yes - I needed to make 8 cards so decided to do them all the same. The colors are very warm and I really like the way this came together - again using the stencil technique I've become so found of!!

Over Due Ugly Card Update

Okay - so finally getting around the Ugly Card Update. I'm quite excited about this little adventure of the card - it's a neat way to meet other bloggers all over the world and to see a bit of their world with the pictures of the Ugly Card!

The Ugly Card made it's way from Lyn to Sylvie-Anne and is now with Cath Wilson - all in the UK. Which makes me happy that it's making it's rounds in Britain as my parents are from Dundee, Scotland - almost like a home coming! The latest stop is not too far from Liverpool and of course I love the Beatles - so lovin' that fact that it's hanging out in a pretty cool historical place!

Sorry gang - this will be another winded blog posting. Not blogging as often as I would like - but I guess the plus side of it means that I'm actually crafting quite a bit!

This is a card I made for my boss who went on a very well deserved vacation to Hawaii. This is a Wiper Card - the picture really doesn't do it justice - but it's a really fun card to make! The sentitment 'pop's up when you open the card.

This card I made for my friend's little girl who just turned four and is very into Tinkerbell and all her Fairy friends. This was the technique that Merlie was using and I really love this - I seem to want to use it all the time! Same with the glitter Love it!

That same friend's parents also just celebrated their 40th Wedding Annivesary! Which of course is the Ruby Anniversary so I have fun using Red in this Card. I wasn't too sure how it would turn out - but again - I liked it more the next day! I'm a little disappointed in how the flowers turned out - they almost look like poinsettas!!

My Cousin and her husband also celebrated their 20th Wedding annivesray this month and this was the card I made for them. We went out for dinner to Ruth's Chris Steak House and I think that's becoming one of my favorite restaurants!! The meals are delish and even if you don't have room - you gotta have dessert! I can't recommend just one because they are all so amazing!! And again - used the stencil and the glitter! Merlie - you've got me really addicted!

And finally - the last picture to post on the blog....a friend from knows I make cards and has a seen a couple of them and suggested that I make a few for our annual Red Cross Silent Auction Fund Raiser we do at work. This made me very nervous - as it's really putting myself out there and I'm not at all that comfortable with the thought of it - but took in a deep breath and said why not. It's for a very good cause. So I decided I would do three box sets. So I did 4 birthday cards, 4 thinking of you cards and 4 Christmas Cards. And as an added bonus I also made 8 bows. 4 to match the birthday card colors and 4 to match the Christmas card colors. The cards are pretty much all the same style with color and label variations. And again - used the stencil technique. I really like the way this turned out - still really nervous about this. The auction isn't until November 19th - so I still have a few weeks to stew over the idea of my projects being out there! But - you don't ever get anywhere without taking the first step. Don't know if I really have any where to go - but at least I'm taking a first step!

Again - I apologize for the long windedness of this post and I promise to have an update on the Ugly card shortly!

Finally....Blogging Back to Normal? Not quite!

Okay - so it still amazes me how much goes by so quickly! Again our schedule has been crazy busy - but not really sure what we've been doing! LOL! We were in Seattle over Thanksgiving weekend with a couple of friends of ours to take in some Football and Seafood! I LOVE going to Seattle! And now I've discovered Nordstrom's Rack - I love it even more! The weekend was a great weekend! We go again in December and I know I'll be doing more shopping!

I apologize now as this will be a lengthy blog and several pictures! I've had several cards to make....We had Calgas on Friday night and I made this card for our challenge. It's a shower card I made for my sister and my Nephew, Jack who is already 5 weeks old!!

The sentiment below the images is 'Adorable'. Doesn't really show up on th picture very well. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder on the back ground paper. I really like these colors together - and I just adore this image!

I also had to make a bridal shower card for a friend who is getting married in November and the shower was on Saturday. I just couldn't get any mojo happening on Friday. Played around with a few ideas - but just couldn't get it together. So Saturday morning I had to make my Nephew's time capsule for the shower and that's a whole lot of crafting stuff so that got my mojo flowing and was able to create this card for the bridal shower - which unfortunately I didn't make it to.

Me and another friend went in together for a gift card for Beds Bath and Beyond so had to make a gift card holder. I found this technique on SCS and thought it was really quite unique. Incredibly easy to do and I love how it looks! I used an embossing forlder for the dots and used a sponge stamp to go over the embossing details. Merlie used this technique at Calgals and I love how it looks!

This is the inside of the card and the gift card fits beautifully in the holder!

And since my mojo was flowing like it hasn't flowed in a very long time - I jumped on Tracy's Christmas Challenge for this month and completed my cards! Our challenge was to create gift card holders and since I loved how this turned out in my bridal shower card - I used the same technique in these cards as well.

So I know this was quite a winded post - but I still think the next few weeks are going to be hit and miss as we're getting ready to start the big move! November 15th will come awfully quickly and I haven't even started to pack! So I'll be busy getting things organized and packed. I can't wait until I'm in my new craft room! I'll definitley post pictures as the space is quite unique!

I also made a birthday card for my friends little girl who turned 4 - but I'll get the posted later!

Life is Sometimes Good - Sometimes Bad...

Well it definitely has been another crazy week. Quite a few things happened so this will be a fairly long posting!

The Good......

We were in Dallas on the weekend of the 20th to see the Cowboys home opener against the Giants. Dallas is my husband's team and he was quite excited to be there... who am I kidding - I was excited to be there! I love watching football even though I'm not quite the fanatic like my hubby and our friends - they know all sorts of stats and I'd be lucky just to name most of them!

My husband was actually lucky enough to get Seattle Seahawks season tickets this year. We don`t really like the team - but Seattle is the closest city to us that has NFL team. It`s only an hour flight - and I`ve fallen in love with the town! It`s always a great weekend when ever we get there. We`ll be going to a couple of games - the rest of the season my husband sold the tickets. We`ll be down there in a couple of weeks over Canada Thanksgiving. My favorite team is Tamba Bay Bucs. We get to see them play in Seattle on December 20th! A very Happy Christmas to me!!

My sister had her baby on September 13th. Jackson weighed in a 8 lbs - 4 0z and was 21 inches long. He`s quite the content little guy and absolutely adorable - not that I`m biased or anything! My 3 year old neice Machayla is having a bit of a time adjusting to the new addition - but she is great with him - just not sure how not having all the attention all the time is working out.

The Bad....

My older sister's father-in-law passed away on Wednesday. His funeral was on Saturday. It was a good service - lots of people there and great support for all of his family. It's kind of a unique situation where they are more than just in-laws with us. We all grew up together so we really are an extended part of the family. He will be incredibly missed by all - but like I said - there is a lot of support for everyone. My mom and sister wanted me to make some cards for them. Here are the sympathy cards I made:

A couple I had on hand but the rest I made up this week. I like how they all turned. The last one was one we did at Calgals a couple of weeks ago as one of our challenges and it actually turned out as a very nice thinking of you card. I wasn`t too sure about it - but when I used it - it actually turned out okay.

I often find that if I finish a card and leave it for a couple days - when I come back to it - I actually like it better than right after I finished it. I guess it takes a bit of time to appreciate some of your own work!! LOL!

I found this out with my Tracy`s Christmas Challenge this month. I decided to use the spirelli technique and as this was my first go - I didn`t think it too bad. I thought the cards were okay when I finished them last night....and I know that I`ll have to work on this technique to get it more perfect - but when I went to go take the pics - I think I actually quite like them!!

Here they are.....well - still trying to figure out the new computer and can`t figure out how to turn the picture!! Sorry!! LOL!!

Ringette has started and that has been a great stress relief for me over the past couple of weeks. I hope things will get back to a bit of a normal routine to me and I hope to be able to blog on a regular basis.......that is until moving day - November 15th!!

Up and Running

Okay so thought I'd give the computer another go and today it seems to be working! So thought I'd get a post in - still no picks to post....yet! I've started my Christmas Challenge cards so hopefully this weekend I'll get the done!

Dallas (actually Arlington) was an amazing weekend! We went to the Texas Rangers vs. L.A Angels ball game on Saturday and then the main event - the Dallas Cowboys vs the New York Giants in the brand new amazing stadium of the Cowboys! The game was exciting and the stadium is beautiful! We had a great time - and even tho' the Cowboys lost - it was a great weekend!

We did however suffer a bit with the humidity. We definitely are not used to that! It was 88 degrees F. with about 90% humidity. Needless to say - just walking across the street we were drenched! LOL!

Anyhow - thougth I'd throw a little hello out there and hopefully will have the Christmas challenge done on the weekend.

Crazy World

Well - I know it's been a while but things are definitely going a bit crazy. My sister had her baby on the 13th. Jackson was 8 lbs 4 oz and 22 inches! Friends had their baby on the 14th - 8 lbs 4 oz 20.5 inches. No pictures of Jackson yet - but will get them up as soon as I get some!

And again having computer issues where I can't seem to get internet access on my two computers - it's very hit and miss. However - hubby just stepped out so snaggled his laptop to get this post up and to check a couple of my blog sites!

Ball season has come to a end on a very a good note. We won Nationals. 11 games in 4 days! It was a long weekend over the long weekend - but very satisfying!

My sister's father in law had a heart attack about a week ago and it's not good. There is severe brain damage and they've decided to not attempt to do any life saving measures. They're basically going to keep him comfortable and let nature take his course.

So the last few weeks have been a bit all over the place. Haven't done much is the way of stamping. We had Calgals last Friday and that was the only time I've really done anything. It felt really good - and I was somewhat happy with my card - which I haven't even taken a picture yet! I'll get that posted soon!

I'll definitely be doing Tracy's Christmas Challenge so I'll get that posted!

So yes - still here - just in a whirl wind of life right now!

The winter season has started as well - already been on the ice twice!

Hubby and I are off to Dallas this weekend. We get to go to the Cowboy's home opener game Vs the Giants at the new stadium. Dallas is my hubby's favorite team so he's pretty excited! We leave tomorrow morning and come back on Monday - so really just for the weekend! It should be a lot of fun!

So here's hoping that I'll be able to get things up and running again and get back to a normal routine of stamping!

Tracy's August Christmas Challenge

Well, I've finally got most of all my items onto this computer! And I've figured out how to down load my pictures! Now let's see if I can figure how to get them onto my blog - LOL!

Success! LOL! Okay - so here are my cards for Tracy's August Christmas Challenge! The challenge this month was to use DP as your main image! When I first read that - I had a bit of a panick attack! But then - as I thought about it - the idea of my cards came fast and furious! The DP I used is from my Christmas Stack. I love this paper but it was hard to try and get something flowing with this. Thank goodness for SU Color Coach! According to the Coach - the coordinating colors are Bravo Burgandy - which I used as the layer behind the image - More Mustard - which I used as the main color for the card. I also used my cuttlebug snowflake folder to emboss this paper, and the third color was Elegant Eggplant - which I'ved used as my layer behind More Mustard and the stamp color for the sentitment.

These are not my normal 'go to' colors but I actually really like how these turned out! It's amazing how quickly your cards come together when you know exactly what you are doing and when the finished project is what you had imagined - it's a great feeling - which I needed! This definitely felt good to do! Again - it's great that Tracy keeps challenging us out of our comfort zones - and to see what creativity we have hiding inside! Thanks, Again Tracy!!

Must remember to try and schedule some card making time on a regular basis! It's such a great stress reliever!!

New Computer

Okay - so I've connected to a new computer and will have to use this one until I get my Mac figured out! I'm going to have to go through and add all my favs to this computer so it'll take me a while to get back up and running! Hopefully this will solve a lot of my frustrations I've been having with my computer!

I've finished Tracy's Christmas challenge and I've got the pics - just need to get them onto this computer to get the pictures posted!

Things are still pretty crazy. We are building a new house and things have just exploded for stuff we have to do for that! We're expecting a move in date sometime in early October - so things are pretty hectic getting all the finalized stages completed. We've just finished having all the electric work done. And we should be getting ready for drywall in the next couple of weeks. Our siding was delivered on Friday so it'll be very exciting to see the outside of the house looking more like a completed house rather than a wooden box!

My sister is also expecting her second baby within the month! We have softball nationals coming up on the long weekend and we're into playoffs for my ladies team. The sun has finally decided to show it's self so we now have another taste of summer!

All in all - still feeling pretty hectic with everything going on - but all positive - very stressful -but positive!

Yup! Still here

And finally able to get into my blog. I've been having some issue lately trying to get in and get some blogging done! This past month has been busy with ball and house things - so really haven't done much in the way of card making! Didn't even get into the monthy RAK I normally do...and this month doesn't look much calmer! A couple of more tourneys and a few trips lined up.

We actually just got home from LA! We were there over the weekend for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl! It was really amazing! Seeing a concert at the Hollywood Bowl has been our list of things to do and we had the chance! We saw Lang Lang (amazing Pianist) and Herby Hancock - another amazing pianist! They were playing with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra! And the concert was great! If you've never seen the Hollywood Bowl - I suggest you add it to your list! It really is a work of art! It seats 18,000 people and the sound is amazing! And they had special guest join them on stage for a song - Josh Groban - who I adore - he's a cutey with an amazing voice!

This was our anniversary trip - so it was kinda nice! 15 years for us on the 20th! We stayed at the Sheraton right at Universal Studios. We actually didn't go to Universal - but spent a couple of days walking around City walk and went to SeaWorld San Diego. It was a very special fun trip - even tho' we had to sit in the dark for 2 hours last night when a city transformer blew and our hotel went dark! Thank goodness for computers with music!!

I'll try and get some pictures posted in the next day or two - as long as my computer is going to let me!

Where oh Where is Little D?

I'm here - but wow has this month been a crazy busy month! Haven't had much time for stampin' and card making - but was finally able to sit down and go at 'er! This is my Aloha Rak for my partner. The challenge was for note cards. I took mine in a little bit different direction. I made four cards all the same and a holder for the cards and envelopes. It's a pretty simple design but I think it's quite elegant! I hope my partner likes it!

This is a card I made for friends of ours who just had their first baby.

Madison Maureen Skjodt was born on July 22nd. It's a Double Diagonal fold card. Quite a simple design and I really like the idea that you can add your own elements to the inserts. For this one I attached the gift card to a book mark and slipped into the middle pouch. You can even place another insert into the top pouch.

And finally - Tracy's Christmas Challenge.

This month's challenge was to create a card with no layers. This was actually tougher than I thought it would be. I kept it simple and made a window card. So from the front it looks like layers - but it's not. The image is on the inside of the card. I added a ribbon to the top of the card and a couple of Snowflakes brads for some bling. I might go back and revisit these ones and maybe add a bit more bling - but I think I actually like the simplicity of it.

I still have a couple of more cards to do this weekend so will hopefully have another post by the end of the weekend. Babies, Birthdays and Funerals....oh my! My youngest nephew turns 18 on Monday - wow - can't believe that!! A friend of ours lost his dad on the weekend and the funeral is on Tuesday.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! We've finally have had a stretch of hot weather and this weekend is supposed to be a bit of a scorcher. I will definitely get out and enjoy it! Of course with my 60 sunscreen!

Tri-Shutter Anniversary Card

After Tracy's suggestion of trying a Tri-Shutter fold card for her Christmas challenge, and seeing it in person - which turned out beautiful - I thought I'd give it a whirl for my cousin's anniversary card my mom asked me to make. And I must say - I love this card! I can definitely see me making more of these cards. The cutting and scoring is quite easy - but adding the additional pieces of paper and blinging it up definitely takes some time. I think it's taken me over 2 hours total time to get this done! Deciding which paper to use and what to use as bling definitely is the challenge for this card.

I dug through all my DP I have and the paper I chose - I've had for quite a while - so long actually - I don't have the cover anymore that tells me what type of paper it is! I think it's Old World - but not sure who makes it! The Silver leaves are very appropriate as it's their 25th Wedding anniversary - and the leaves I got as part of my winning bling from Tracy's Christmas Challenge last month! The purple leaves are also from the same package. I love these leaves. Thanks, again, Trace!

This is the card when opened. I used the silver paper from Stamping up and used my cuttle bug to Emboss the design on it. And I've figured out that if I edit and crop my pictures - you can't click on it to enlarge it - sorry! I'll have to look into that and see what I can do......

I love the blend of the pinks and reds in the DP - it gives it a bit of a classic feel - and the sunflowers are just fun! The wording on the inside panel says 'Love is the only flower that grows and blossoms with the aid of seasons'.

One thing to keep in mind - be cautious of the bling - too much bling makes the card not fit into a standard size envelope! But of course it makes more fun to have to make an envelope for it to fit into!! LOL!

My mom and older sister are going to Vegas to meet my cousins there - so I hope they have a great time and of course I hope they like the card! LOL! They leave Sunday morning - and we're all going for Pedicures on Saturday - can't wait!

Where have the days gone?

I can't believe it's June 3oth and it's been two weeks since my last post! It's unbelievable how quick the time has gone by. Things have been crazy busy with ball FINALLY we've had some pretty decent weather! With it being June 30th, and nothing like leaving it to the last minute - here are my cards for Tracy's Christmas challenge. I love these little cards - they are 3 1/2 square cards that have a triangle tri-fold in them. I used different images for each of the cards - but the inside sentiment is the same.

After making these - I realized - I don't have any envelopes for these! Guess I'll be making envelopes for these!! I like the challenges Tracy has been putting out every month! It definitely helps get the creative juices flowing and opens me up to different techniques and really lets me explore my creativity!

I haven't done much Mojo Monday challenges for awhile and haven't done a Copic Color challenge lately either. The next couple of weekends are open for me so I'll have to try and get a couple of challenges going!

On the 17th - we had our Calgals night and Merlie brought the challenge for the night - and this was my creation:

I've been working on a couple of other projects but haven't quite finished them. My mom and older sister are going to Vegas on Sunday to meet up with my Cousin and her husband who are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary. My mom has asked me to do up a card - so I'm right in the middle of that. Once I get that finished - I'll have it posted.

My sister who was in the car accident is doing good! They got their car back today and the damage was a little over $3000.00 - but at least it was fixable!! Tomorrow is Canada Day here so we get a day off! Kinda sucky that it's in the middle of the week - but it's still a day off! And Friday is the kick off to The Calgary Stampede - which is Parade Day! Downtown Calgary is pretty much shut down from 7:00 - 12:00 while the parade is going on! Our office is closed in the am - but I have booked the entire day off - so I have a very short week! I'm hoping to maybe go golfing on Friday - but we'll have to see what the day brings - meaning - what time I decide to get out of bed!!

Weird Emotional Night.....

Well a few things going on - no cards to post - but have a couple of projects - including Tracy's Christmas Challenge. I've also finally managed to change the color of my comment link so that you can actually see where it is! Sorry if you've wanted to leave a comment but couldn't see where it was at!

Today is a special day for me. 21 years ago Eric and I officially started dating. We don't really do anything to celebrate - but it's a fun kinda anniversary for us. It's also my dad's birthday. My dad would have been 65 today but passed away almost 11 years ago. So this day has always been a bit of a weird emotional day - missing my dad - and celebrating us being together.

But what made it even more of an emotional day - my sister who is 6 months pregnant and 3 year old niece were in a car accident tonight. They're both fine - just really shaken up. She called just after 9:00 to see if I could come and get them as her hubby was at a movie. She was very shaken up when she called - so the police officer on sight had to come on the phone to let me know where they were and to reassure me that they were fine. Still didn't do much for my nerves - so had to get hubby to drive as I bit shakey. My sister had rear-ended the car in front of her due to a chain reaction of a car two in front of her slamming on the breaks. There was quite a bit of damage to her car - leaking antifreeze all over the road - and a very crumpled hood - but no real damage to the car she hit. And to add to the accident - the girl she hit is also 6 months pregnant - but she was also fine.

When we got to where they were - my niece came up to me and said "my car has a boo boo - it ran into another car". Which melted my heart and made me feel way better!

So it's now just after midnight and I think I've calmed down enough that I'm off to bed to try and get a decent night sleep.

Nieces and Nephews - Oh My!!

Spring is finally here and seems to be sticking around. And June is another busy month for us. Birthday for my niece and nephew, anniversary for my older sister - their 2oth this year! And me and my hubby have a special anniversary as well. On the 16th we will have been together for 21 years! My gosh...time flies when you're having fun!

Three years ago on June 15th, this amazing little angel came into our lives. This is my 3 year old Niece Machayla. My younger sister named her Machayla with the unique spelling for a couple of reasons. Both our family and my brother in law's family have Scottish routes - me and my two sisters are first generation Canadian - my parents are from Scotland so it has a bit of a gaelic twist on it. And the second reason is because of my Dad. My maiden name is MacCluskey - so my dad was always called Mac. My dad passed away in August 1998 And of course - with Machayla, we now call her Mac. She is a lot of fun and I love spending every chance I get with her - which, sadly - is not nearly enough for me! We are going to Calaway Park tomorrow and then having brunch on Sunday to celebrate her birthday.

This is her card that I've made, which

is also Mojo Monday Sketch #90. I really like the way the colors came together and of course I love my fairy stamps from The Greeting Farm.

I colored the fairy using - but of course - Copic markers - which I still really love using! And I'm definitely getting more and more comfortable using them.

I used YG01 and YG03 for the dress, YR23, Y26, E33 for the hair and C1 and C3 for the wings. You can't really see in the picture but I've used glitter pen on the wings to give it that extra sparkle

At the opposite end of the spectrum is my oldest nephew, who turned 21 on the 1st of June! He is also an angel - in his own way. He ran the Uncover the Cure run last weekend and as promised - I have pictures! I'm sure he'll be thrilled when he knows I've posted the pictures here! He's is very kind and has a huge heart - on most days! And he's a cuddler - he likes to hug. And what else is huggable?? That's right - a Bunny!

This is him posing just after I presented him with his outfit. He was a great sport about the whole thing! This is actually a very special event for me and my hubby as his Step-Dad passed away from Prostate Cancer. Next year me and my two sisters are going to do the 5 K walk....I can guarantee I won't be wearing anything this revealing - but I'm sure there will be some sort of wagering involved again!

Here we are at the end of the race! He did really well. He wanted to run it in 57 minutes and came in around the 48 minute marker. I haven't heard his official time - but he did great! He did have to take the ears off and carry them as the are apparently not very aerodynamic!

I still have another couple of cards to do this weekend but can't say what they are for - just in case they happen to stop by and see what I've done! I'll have them posted soon! And I might have a special project to work on.....but more on that much later!

Here is my card for June Aloha Rak. The challenge was to create with flowers. And the images is Tink from The Greeting Farm.

Today was a better day weather wise - in the fact there was no snow...yet!

Working with the bright colors and flowers on my card definitely picked up my mood! If I can't see flowers outside - at least I can see them here!

My oldest nephew, Chris who just turned 21 - was in 'Uncover The Cure' run for Cancer yesterday and he was hoping to do his 10K in 57 minutes and he ran it in about 48 minutes. I don't have a pic to post yet - but because we donated the most - we got to pick out what his outfit would be. Most of the runners wear some sort of underwear.....so needless to say - I went shopping at Lasenza and got the cutest little bunny outfit for him to wear. And true to his word - he wore it! I'll get the pictures posted as soon as I charge my battery camera!

I'll have another post this week as my niece turns 3 next weekend and of course need to do her card and we have some friends that are moving away so I'll try and get their card done as well!

Just a little note to say that I'm still here....just been crazy. Don't have any new images to post - yet - but will have something done by the weekend.

We had snow again yesterday.....very frustrating! The Farmer's Almanac said we were supposed to have a hotter summer than normal.....All I can say is I HOPE SO! We've really only had a couple of days of decent weather this 'spring'....Our trees have finally come into full bloom and we're starting to get some flowers - but then we get snow....

We've had a couple of decent weekends and one of the weekends we were in BC for golfing weekend for a friends's 4oth birthday and it was a great weekend - also very hot! And it was quite nice to touch my clubs again!

We were in Vegas again last weekend. And they're having an amazing spring. It was 36 + degrees c. every day - too hot to even stay in by the pool! But we had a great time!

Crazy Day for Stampin'

Well - welcome to May Long Weekend in Calgary.....you never know what you're gonna get - weather wise that is! Yesterday it was above 20 and I have a fairly badly burned face to prove it! Golfing 18 holes with forgetting to put sunscreen on my face is never a good idea! And today - when we woke up - snow on the ground and a high of 4 degrees!! AAAGH! But hey - because it was not so nice to get out - I decided to catch up on some of my stamping and blogging! This card I made for Debbie. Nancy's friend Domenica's mom, Debbie is not feeling very well and Nancy has asked for Thinking of You cards to help brighten Debbie's day. This is my card I made for her - with a little note saying she is in my thoughts, as is Domenica.

This card I made for my boss who went on vacation with her daughter and grandchildren to Disneyland. An appropriate themed card - I have Disney DP and the Tinkerbell punch I got as a gift from some friends who were just back from Disneyland.

And finally, my Christmas Challenge submission for Tracy's Christmas Challenge. I made two sets as the first set I made "Let It Snow" I really didn't like how these turned out. Too basic. So decided to get my head out of the snow and make another batch which I like much better. The challenge was the main image had to be a sentiment and you had to use pink. The colors aren't as bright in the pictures as the really are.

So all in all a very productive day for me. And the cataloging of my stamps proved to be a success in all of the cards I made. I simply looked through my book of images and went and grabbed the CD case associated with it. Definitely made my life very easy!! So definitely made it all worth it!

Spring has finally sprung here and time for Spring Cleaning!! Decided to search around for a new background and found this one! Yup - still Winnie - don't you just love him?

This is the card that I've done for my May Aloha RAK! I really like how this turned out - the stamped image on the back ground really adds something special to it. The colors don't really come out in the picture - but I really quite like it!

I've also started to organize my stamps. I took the plunge and unmounted all my SU stamps! The amount of space that I've saved - it's amazing! It was really quite easy and now that I have them all in CD cases - I have way more room.

I was also directed to a blog( - sorry - can't remember which one) where she has created a log of all her stamps - so decided to do the same thing! Crazy I know - but I think it's a great idea!!

And in the grand scheme of things - I don't have as many stamps as others so thought now would be a good time to start!! Especially for sentiment stamps - I always seem to have issues finding the right sentiment - but once they've all been cataloged - it'll be easy to find exactly what I'm looking for!

I've ended up with 62 CDS cases full of stamps plus a few block stamps that I'm going to leave on their blocks. I'm just under 1/3 way done cataloging them all. It takes a while.....but I'll be very happy once this is done!! I'll keep ya posted on my progress.

Spring??

Unbelievable! I think....think....spring has finally arrived! It's been absolutely beautiful this weekend! We had our kick off tournament this weekend for my Ladies Ball and it was a perfect weekend to play ball....didn't play perfect - but we had a good time and got rid of some built up winter rust....my legs are feeling it!

And finally my Christmas Challenge for Tracy's challenge. A few days late - but done! And speaking of Tracy - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Tracy and Hubby

Allan are celebrating their anniversary today - 8 Years for them! Congrats!!

Since we bowed out of the tournament quite early - I'll be working on my Aloha RAK later today so I'll hopefully have the done and ready to go for tomorrow!

Long Time No Blog!

Well - it's been a while since my last post - and really don't have an excuse. Really getting tired of winter - more snow over the weekend and we're supposed to start ball on Monday. Don't think that's going to happen!

I've been somewhat creative and need to get a little more ambition to work on my assignments! Need to get my cards done For Tracy's Christmas challenge and I've got My Rak Partner from Jen for this month - so I need to get going!

Here are a few cards I've done:

This is one of the cards I made for my friends little girl who was going to Disneyland. This is Sydney's card - She is a definite princess. This image is actually on the inside of the card.

This Card is the card I made for Kylie - who is a Tinkerbell fanatic! Her favorite color is green because Tink wear's green! This is also a flip card where the image is on the inside.

This is a card I made for my boss who left today for The Dominican Republic on holiday. Well actually - her daughter is getting married there this week so they've been looking forward for this for a while now - and she'll be on a warm sunny beach - while we'll be shoveling our snow - again!!

I'm hoping to have my Christmas challenge cards up by next weekend!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Everyone! 'Hop' the Easter Bunny was good to you! I know it's been a bit since my last post - but it's amazing how time flies!

This was the card I made my 2 1/2 year old Niece, Machayla - who was all hocked up on chocolate by the time I got to her house on Sunday Morning!

I used the Easter Anya stamp - which is very adorable! And DP from the Glitter stack I received for my Birthday.

These are the cards I made my friends girls, Sydney and Kylie, for Easter - same design as Mac's but different color schemes. This was a fairly easy layout but I love all three! Sydney and Kylie actually get a great surprise on Friday. Their Mom and Dad are surprising them with a trip to Disneyland! They leave Friday morning and won't get told until Friday morning! It's very exciting! I've made them a couple of going away cards which I'll get posted this week!

This week Spring has finally arrived. I'm ignoring the snow that is supposed to arrive tonight. If I ignore it - maybe it won't happen!! It was nice to finally get outside and actually start to play ball!

Ugly Card....Let's have fun!

So this is the Ugly Card I did with Calgals on Friday night.....told ya - not a pretty card. But I love the sentitment - "This Card Was a Good Idea Gone Ugly".

I've decided to have some fun with this card. I'm going to see if we can get her to travel the world! I'm going to send this to someone and once they receive it - I want them to add a comment to my latest blog telling me they received it and where they are. All they have to do is send it on to to someone one else. The instructions are on the inside of the card so we'll see how long she travels and where she ends up! Let's have fun with her!

I haven't done much at all this week. It's been pretty crazy and just really haven't felt the creative juices......however it does seem like spring has finally arrived so maybe the juices will flow a bit more now that the sun is actually shining and melting the snow!

I've also received my partner for this Month's Aloha Rak - and I've got a couple of ideas of what I would like to do. So I'll get working on that this week!

Happy Belated B-day to Me!

Yesterday was my birthday and these are a few of the goodies I got from Tracy and the Card that Nancy did up for me! Thanks Ladies! Love it all!! The two paper cards in the back ground are from Tracy's two girls - Emily and Elizabeth - both very sweet girls and both very creative! Definitely good genes from mom and dad!!

I was going to get this posted yesterday - but alas - after I got home from breakfast with Hubby and Ma-in-law - it was Sofa City for the rest of the day! It snowed quite a bit on Saturday night so it was quite white out yesterday. The sun did come out and it did look quite nice out - but the blanket had me sucked into the couch and it was a good day to be a couch potato! A very good way to spend your birthday - I highly recommend it!

I'm in my craft room tonight and I'll put together a couple of more cards from the images I stamp Friday night at Calgals - just have to get things reorganized and unpacked!

I also go another DP Stack of The Glitter Stack from my baby sister for my b-day - and I love this stack! I had already purchased this same stack a while back and I've used quite a bit of it - so this is a good replenishment for me!! Thanks Yonnie!! I say baby sister but she's pregnant with baby #2 and on April 22 (finger's crossed) we'll know if it's another niece or nephew! I'll keep ya posted!!

I had colored an image for the Weekly Copic Color Challenge and I absolutely loved how the image turned out - but when I put the card together - disaster! It's a very ugly card - Calgals will confirm - however - I have THE perfect stamp to go on it! It won't get posted to for the challenge - but I will get it posted on here once I get the sentiment attached!

Spring??

Well looking out my window at the two feet of snow piled on my lawn - it really doesn't feel like spring!

The weekend was a busy one for me with provincials. Which we didn't do as well as we were hoping - in fact - we actually didn't even win one game - but we played hard and work hard all and we've brought back a great sense of being a team. I also brought back a few nasty bruises and yes - even a bit of whiplash! Those Edmonton girls are big and mean! I got taken into the boards and came out with whiplash. Keeping in mind this is supposed to be a non-contact sport......but hey - that's what sports are all about.....I have a few weeks now before ball starts - so enough time to heal - I hope!!

I don't actually have a picture to post right now - but I did receive my March Rak from Berenice in Mexico - which was an amazing RAK. Inside the package were the most adorable Winnie The Pooh Stickers and pencil set (wonder how she knew I liked Pooh??) and some bling to do with sports and Vegas.....I love all of it - thanks Berenice! The card was also very cute!

I've done up a card for the Paper Take Weekly Challenge. I'll also have to get this posted sometime this week!

The weekend wasn't a total bust for me! I went to Red Deer College and got another bunch of Copic Markers for my collection. They had a great collection and a great price for the markers - so did very well - ended up with about 3o more markers! Almost worth the 1 1/2 hour drive!

Anyhow - I'll try and get some pics posted before the weekend! Hubby just brought me a bowl of ice cream - so I'm going to go and enjoy!

Tracy's Christmas Challenge #3

Who would of that that after power card making last weekend with 7 cards - I'd have enough gumption to do more! But here they are!

This is my entry for Tracy's Christmas Challenge #3. We were to make 5 cards using the same image and our layout had to include black and white cardstock plus another of our choice and had to have at least one button and no other embellishments.

I quite like how this turned out. It's quite simple but very sharp. The stamp sentiment says 'be merry'. The buttons I used were from my two very old tins of buttons that were my husband's grandmother's that I happened upon and I litterally have hundreds of buttons that I've never used before - but I love this as the center of the snowflake. The snowflake is embossed with Winerwhite embossing powder and has a bit of a glitter in it which you don't see here.

This was quite a quick challenge for me (thank goodness!) and took less than an hour to put these together.

Well I'm off to bed now! I don't think there will be anymore card making this week. I've had a very successful week of card making but I have Ringette Provincials this weekend so I'm going to try and have a few early nights before the weekend! As I'm posting this it's 12:oo midnight here! Up in 5 hours for work!

MARCH MADNESS

March is an insane month for me! I have 6 Birthdays and 1 Anniversary! So the last couple of days I've been going like mad! I've got all the ones I've needed to get done for this week so here they are:

This one is for our nephew out in BC. I used an older Mojo Sketch and really like how this turned out! One of my presents I bought myself with my birthday money was the Spellbinders Nestie used here. I really like this shape. The back ground paper is BackCountry from The Paper Loft.

This is for a friend of mine. The Colors aren't very clear here - didnt' do a great job of tweeking the image! The colors are more caramel and Close to Cocoa. The Paper is also Back Country from The Paper Loft.

This card is for my aunt who has the same birthday as me! I really like how the coloring turned out on the stamp - Copics are working well!

All the images were colored with the Copics. Can't wait to get more!! We have an order coming hopefully this week from Scrappin Great Deals! Wohoo! Plus we have the Copic Class tomorrow night - so 3 more colors - green being the theme for this month for St. Paddy's Day!

I do have a couple of more cards done - another birthday - my sister's whose birthday is a week before mine - and the anniversary card for my aunt and uncle. The same aunt who has the same birthday as me - and funny enough - their anniversary is on the same day as my sisters birthday!

All of these cards are all non-standard card sizes. Another one of my un-comfort zones is making cards that are not the standard size. But I find that a lot of the sketch challenges I'm starting to participate in need to be a bit bigger - especially with some of the images I'm using p Anya's to be specific - and I have a few more of those on the way!

I told you - March is a very insane month for me!

And I see that Tracy has her monthly Christmas Challenge up - so more craziness for me to come! Not sure when this will get done - this week is another busy one and we are in Ringette Provincials in Lacombe (small Alberta town about 1 1/2 hours North) on the weekend! I have the materials all ready to go and know what I'm going to do - just need to find time to do it!

Copic Color Challenge

This was definitely a challenge for me! This is my entry for the Copics Colour Challenge for this week. The challenge was to use V06, Y08 and BG13. Well unfortunately I don't have BG13 (yet) so had to substitute in BG01. The thing I love about the color challenges is that is makes you come out of your comfort zone and really dig deep into your creative juices! It makes you use color combos you normally wouldn't use! And it is amazing what can be created. Having the samples from the DT definitely helps to get the ideas flowing!

Too Cold for anything but Stamping!

Sunday was a day for reorganizing. My craft room has not been flowing very well this past couple of weeks and so I decided I needed to change things up! I've rearranged things a bit and I feel much better in the new layout - feel more Mojo flowing. And speaking of Mojo......

This is the card that I've done up for my Mojo Monday (Mojo77) entry. The colors don't really come through but I rather like the way they came together. The back ground color is SU Apricot Appeal and the bling on the side is a golden yellow color. The inside sentiment says: to sit when you'd rather dance!

This is a card I did up for may cousin in England who is going in for surgery this week.
I've also done up my card for my March Rak so I'll be getting that off this week as well. Just a quick post tonight - going to climb into my nice warm bed as it's absolutely freezing here this week! We've been below -20C for the past couple of days with lots of Snow! Doesn't Mother Nature know it's March??

BUSY WEEK

Just a quick post tonight!

This has been a busy week! Haven't been home much to play - but had to do up a card for some friends who got married last weekend! I've been trying all week to come up with something and just haven't "felt" it. This is my birthday month so I get an additional discount at the pantry - and did a bit of a shopping today. I bought some pretty wedding paper and some bling and that did the trick. I love the look of silver black and red - very classic feel to it and I love how this came together.

I bought the nesties today as well that framed the images and the inside sentiment. I really like this shape - great for framing! And I've finally got the hang of embossing the nesties with my Cuttlebug.

CRAMMIN' WEEKEND

Well this has been a very production weekend for me! In total I've made 10 Cards! 8 now posted! The three Ian cards I made for the challenges and the 5 here all used with Mermaid Anya! I love how these all turned out. After I had colored them I was a but unsure of how they would come together as cards - but I'm very happy how they did turn out! I've definitely found a comfort zone using patterned paper and bling. It's amazing to me how the cards I'm doing now are way more interesting than my simple cards I started with!

I'm glad this is my birthday month! I've decided I need a bit more bling in my collection and with the discount I get at the Pantry and with the gift cards and money I've gotten - I should do quite well in stocking up!

When I first colored the Orange and Red together - I wasn't too sure - but I love how this came together with the paper and flowers!

I haven't used the Princess Anya yet - so I'm sure there will be more posting this week! My schedule is a bit clear right now - waiting for schedule of playoff games for hockey and ringette!

CHALLENGES GALORE....

Okay - So I've jumped in with both feet and decided to combine two challenges into one.

I wanted to do the Copic Colour Challenge and with that decided to do the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I didn't have the exact colors for the Copic Colour Challenge - B02, R05, YG23 so instead used B05, R08, YG03. The colours were interesting to work with but decided on the color combinations below. I couldn't decide which color combo worked best so ended up making 3 Cards with these colors. I used my Hello Ian Anya stamp that I got from The Greeting Farm - and I must say I'm crushing on this cute litte guy!

The first one here was done as B05 being the main color used with R08 and YG03 being the supportive colors. I found it quite hard to match any paper color this but I'm okay with the way it turned out.

This one was YG03 as the main color and I like this one quite a bit better than the blue combo. The colors were a much better match.

This one is with R08 and I like this one the best. I think this color combo works best and the layout turned out quite nice.

This was quite a fun challenge adventure for me. For the rest of Ian I used the following colors:

Hair: E33 and E37 Face/Skin: E00 and E02 Flower: Y08, Y13, Y17

SIMPLE.....

ain't so simple! Okay - here is my card for Tracy's Christmas Challenge #2. I found myself wanting to bling the dickens out of the card but had to keep reminding myself that this was to be simple. Not as easy as I thought! But after putting away all the bling and putting the cards together, Voila - 5 more Christmas Card! And I quite like the way it turned out! The stamp is one of my favs from the Angel Company and coloring this cute guy with my Copics was quite fun! I must admit - square cards are still new for me. I've been a traditional card gal and last year was my first year making square cards. But I do like the look of them.....just finding envelopes is the tricky Part!

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS......

Shows ups on Dianne's Blog! Okay - so not everything will show up here - but we had a blast! And with getting home late Tuesday/Early Wednesday and being out almost every night this week - there hasn't ben much time for stamping. Tonight is Oscar night - so there will no stamping tonight either! Hopefully next week I'll get busy. I'll be doing Tracy's Christmas Challenge so will have to get on that!

I was able to get to Blick's art store in Vegas and pick up 36 more Copics - so my collection is getting bigger with more options for coloring! And Tracy and I put in an order Through Scrappin Great Deals so we'll both be getting even more! They are soo much fun!

Getting Ready For Vegas

As promised! This is the card I put together for my Cousin's 40th B-day - the reason we're off to Vegas tomorrow! And let me tell you - this trip could not have come at a better time! There has been a lot of family stress for us all and this will be a great week away to re-energize and to have a whole lot of fun!

The image was on of the Images that Enjoli sent me and I've colored it with my Copics. And again used pattern paper and ribbon - elements I'm really getting used to using!

There have been a few challenges that I thought I would try and get something submitted for - but this past little has been hectic and then being sick hasn't help my creative juices to be flowing.

I'm also hoping that this week away will help me reenergize and get going on some of these challenges and I'm totally hoping to leave my cold in Vegas! I've also heard that a great cure for a cold is Margaritas.....back on Wednesday.

Well, thanks to my lovely, sharing husband I have an incredibly nasty cold so haven't felt much like doing anything. However, we had our second class with Shannon with Copics and I think I'm getting the hang of them.

We're off to Vegas on Thursday and I'm hoping to do some Copic shopping. And I have quite a few images colored so I'll definitely make someting and have it posted before I leave.

Still Coloring

No new pic to post - but just a quick update. I've been a coloring fool with the Copics and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it - but I know I still have a lot more to learn. But it's a lot of fun!

I was pleasantly surprised when we got the mail today. I received a beautiful card from Enjoli (Stamping Under the Sun) and she included a few Stamps that I can use my Copics on! Thanks, again, Enjoli! That was an amazing surprise for me! I will have a lot of fun coloring these images!

I'm off to Vegas next week and have found a store where I will be able to get a great deal on Copics so I'll have a few more in the next couple of weeks to have even more fun with!

Another Challenge

Here is another challenge I've decided to do for Christmas Stamping All Year Long.

This is definitely outside my comfort zone - but I really quite like it. And I know that the more challenges I do - it will only make me better! I think I will probably make a few more of these cards. I've also used colors that are outside my comfort zone - thank goodness for the Color Coach!

Tomorrow night we have another Calgal gathering - and with all the coloring I've been doing with my Copics - I'm hoping to have a few more cards done!

I've seen a few blogs that have a nice closing salutation...I'll have to see what I can come up with....

Okay - so nothing like jumping right in! This is the card that I put together after I colored with my Copics. The image is from "And Everything Nice". I really like this stamp set - and now with Copics - I can see me using it more and more.

I think I'm going to use this for Sydney's Birthday Card - I really like the way it came together!

So now for my homework.....lots of coloring and playing with the pens......

This card I made for my friends little girl who just turned 6! But I think I might try and re-do it using some of my new Copics I got for Christmas from the Williams.

We had our first class for Copics last night at the Pantry - and I think this is going to increase my addiction level 10 fold! These are amazing markers - and the amazing things you can do with them - I can't wait to get more and to learn more!!

Tracy's Christmas Challenge #1

Okay - so I've decided that I'm going to try and get involved with some challenges. And apparently I did have some inspiration from this weekend. I got right into this challenge - I cleared a hurdle for me - I made 5 cards the same! Yay for me!! Here is my entry for the challenge. The stamp I used is from The Angel Company Christmas Fun. I got it just before Christmas but I didn't use it this year - so it's new for me!

A Tough but great Weekend

Well I'm sad to report that we lost our semi-final game 5-2 against a very strong Edmonton team - so my weekend is done.

Again - I'm very proud of the way that our team played this weekend. I'm sure there are a few of us that will be feeling our age tomorrow - but we played a great weekend!

I hope I can take some of that ambition and carry it forward this week and help my creative juices come flowing through!

WE'RE IN! Wohoo!

Well - there isn't much happening in the world of card-making this weekend as I am playing in the Esso Golden Ring tournament here in Calgary. It's one of the world's largest ringette tournaments. There are 185 teams participating in games in rinks all over the city with ages from 5 to over 45. Right now - it's 11:14 pm on Saturday night and we're waiting for the postings to be updated to see if we've made it to the semi-finals. We ended up in three way tie after our round robin games and it's come to a tie breaker. So we are now just waiting to hear.....STRESSFUL! This is definitely a time I should be stamping as it is quite relaxing.....sheesh.....But over all - no matter what happens - we've had an incredible tournament - we've won two games and the one game we lost - we only lost by two goals - so we've had a great tournament - I'm very proud of the gals. Our average age on the team is around 3o and our age range is from 23 - 43 - so quite a spread! And all the girls have a ton of heart. It's also another great way for me to release some of the build up of regular life stress - well - other than waiting to confirm if we've made the finals - so it's been a good weekend even tho' I haven' t touched a single stamp......but next week I get to do a whole bunch of stuff. I have my first Copics class at the Pantry with Shannon and then we're having a class on Friday with Tracy - so hopefully I'll have more postings later this week.

Okay - so we have success of loading an image! And was it easy - Wohoo - not to keen on the actual picture - so I can work on that - was just really anxious to try and get an image uploaded!! And all I'm thinking is - why the heck did I wait so long for this???

This card I made for a friends birthday coming up next week. I'm getting more and more used to using pattern paper and layering - getting out of my basic box....

So now my own challenge is on. I have no more excuses as to why I'm not doing more with my card making! And If I can keep this up - just wait until I get my new craft room in our new house - about 600 sq ft with more room for more stuff..... Actually - that could be a bad thing - can't it??

I really need to thank Tracy for this back ground and template. I absolutely love Winnie The Pooh and this just made my day! So Thank you sooo much Tracy! Sorry I missed you and Shannon at the Pantry. It was quite crazy in there so just got in got the stuff and got out! But it looked like it was a very successful day for the Pantry! I'm quite excited to start using My Copics that I got for Christmas - but as I'm very new to them - I'm going to be a good girl and wait until the Beginners class at the Pantry with Shannon!

Still playing around and finally got a pic uploaded! This picture was taken in September on our Alaskan Cruise! I'm going to play around with getting some pics of my creations up here! Should be interesting!

I stopped by Scrapbook Pantry today to take in the one year celebrations - and of course I had some a gift certificate from Christmas to spend which I did quite well With! I bought a Scor-Pal and some more Nesties and Mat. And thanks to the gang at the Pantry for the fun free pressies! I've already starting to plan for some of the paper and love the Stickles!! Thanks Gang! I just want to say congrats to Crystal and all the gals for making it through one year! And of course for keeping my addiction alive and kicking!!

Well I've finally done it. I've decided to create my own blog...It may take a bit to get it going as I still need to figure out posting pictures and all that fun stuff - but it should be fun!

The challenge for me will be able to keep it up to date - and that will be a strong challenge! I'll definitely have to schedule some time to do it!!
